The mission of Pilot International is:
to influence positive change in communities throughout the world.
To do this, we:
come together in friendship and give people an outlet for service.
We focus on:
encouraging brain safety and health.
supporting those who care for others.
Today, there are over 7,000 Anchors world-wide with new clubs and members being added monthly. Through professionally developed curriculum and strategic partnerships with national organizations, Pilot encourages and provides opportunities for Youth Development & Leadership around the globe.
The Michigan-Indiana District has four Anchor Clubs in Jeffersonville High School (Jeffersonville, IN), Madison Consolidated High School (Madison, IN) New Albany High School (New Albany, IN) and Monroe Central High School (Parker City, IN).
Pilots are active in local safety fairs and bike rodeos where they seek to educate children about the importance of brain-safe practices and often distribute free bike helmets to participants. Pilots also participate in Pilot International’s BrainMinders™ award-winning family of brain-safety educational programs and are active partners with SafeKids Worldwide.
Through both fundraising and hands-on service work, local Pilot and Anchor Clubs provide a “little Pick Me Up” for Caregivers in their communities. Many Pilot Clubs work with The Brain Injury Association of America to support and sustain several exemplary camps for individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBI). These facilities offer a positive experience for the campers while also providing a much-needed rest for their caregivers. Pilot International also created and supports International Care & Kindness Week that brings awareness to how simple acts can change a life by showing someone you care.
